This course is registered by the Environmental Auditors Registration Association (EARA) – an independent non-profit making organization dedicated to raising standards of professional competence in the environmental auditing and environmental management systems auditing profession.

OBJECTIVE

 To provide an in-depth understanding of how to assess the effectiveness of an EMS, as well as a broad understanding of the range of environmental aspects, legislation and regulations pertinent to organizations wishing to implement ISO 14001.
  

CONTENT

 This course incorporates lectures, workshops, case studies, and assignments. The performance of the participants will be continuously assessed. There will also be a written examination. The topics covered include:

  • ISO 14001 Clause Requirements
  • Environmental Aspects Identification & Evaluation
  • Environmental Legislation
      
  • Audit Objectives and Requirements Methods, Skills and Attitude for Auditing

  • Personnel involved in helping companies to obtain ISO 14001 certification and wish to gain an in-depth knowledge of ISO 14001.

PRE-REQUISITES

 Individuals should have previous training in, as well as a sound understanding of ISO 14001 standard and its implementation.
